HIPAA Revisited (ET31)

Now that we’ve lived with HIPAA privacy and data security for four-plus years, plan sponsors must shift their focus from compliance “implementation” to compliance “confirmation.”  And in that transition, the questions asked must change from “What must we do?” to “Are we still doing what we should?”

Following a brief overview of HIPAA’s privacy and data security requirements, this course will focus on the lessons learned over the past four years. Look for answers to the following questions.

  • What must I do to remain compliant?
  • How do I know if my business associate agreements are still current?
  • How can I most easily satisfy HIPAA’s notification requirements?
  • How often and when must I schedule staff training?
  • What are the most common pitfalls I need to avoid?
