Ordering Courses

Q. I've forgotten my password. What should I do?

A. Click ‘Retrieve your password via email' at the bottom of any log in page. Enter your username and email address and press the ‘Retrieve Password' button to receive an email with your password immediately.

Q. How do I access my course after it is ordered?

A. To access your course, please log in to your "my education" page. If you purchased your course through the bookstore, instructions can also be found on the top half of the receipt that was emailed to you after purchase. If you purchased your course over the phone or through an order form, you will be emailed instructions when your course is available.  If you need additional assistance, please contact us using the feedback form.

Q. Can I purchase one course for multiple people in my office?

A. Each person in your office will need to pay and register for a course. Each registration is linked to an individual's educational record allowing for CE/Recertification reporting, completion certificates, and grades.  

Q. I want to pay by check or with a Purchase Order. What should I do?

A. Print this order form [PDF] and mail with payment or purchase order to the address on the bottom of the first page.

Q. How do I order a book related to the course I am taking?

A. To order a book, please visit our Online Bookstore

Q. Can I search for a course by Topic?

A. Yes. Go to our Online Bookstore. For the Product Type select E-Learning. If you have a specific title in mind, fill that in the Title contains field; otherwise, type in a keyword and click on Search. 

Q. What do the icons next to the course titles mean?

A. Courses range from one to four hours in length. Each icon represents the length and format of the course. For more information, read about our course formats.

E-Learning Courses 

Q. I Clicked the Launch button and the course does not appear. What do I do?

A.  In your browser, you will need to select the 'Always allow pop-ups from this site' to have the course window appear. Please make sure your pop-up blocker is disabled.  Some pop-up blockers may interfere with parts of the system. If you are not sure click and hold the control key when you click on a link. Holding the control key when clicking disables your pop-up blocker. If you have the Yahoo or Google Toolbar, you will need to disable the pop-up blocker.

Q. Should I launch the course and take the exam without viewing any of the lesson pages?

A. No, if you take the exam without viewing all the pages of each lesson your exam results will not update your elearning course record.

Q. What do I need to access this course?

A. You will need a computer with internet acess and the browser, Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher when taking any of our e-learning courses. Note: If you are using Citrix to launch Internet Explorer to access your My Education page, you may experience problems launching the course. Please open Internet Explorer directly from your desktop.

Q. What is the best browser for viewing your e-learning courses?

A. For the best performance we highly recommend that you use Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher when taking any of our e-learning courses.

Q. I am logging in after another person on the same computer and I still see their course information. How do I see mine?

A. The cookies are not being properly deleted so you are not completely getting rid of the information from person that was last logged in. This issue can occur for students sharing computers. Deleting cookies or closing the browser after you logout each time will reset the identity.

Q. Once I start a lesson, can I leave it?

A. Yes, however if you would like to return to the page you left, click the Save Progress at the bottom of the screen and when you return to that lesson it will bring you right to the last page that you viewed in that lesson. Please keep in mind that you cannot save your progress while taking an exam.

Q. Do I need to complete the lessons in a specific order?

A. No, however, the lessons are designed to flow sequentially and you will need to view each page of all lessons so that the lesson's Status icon records your lesson as complete. If you do not view all the pages of each lesson your exam score will not be recorded. 

Q. I've gone through a lesson but it doesn't show as completed in "My Education". Why not?

A. Chances are you closed the browser window without hitting "Save Progress." Click through to the end of the lesson and click on "Save Progress" at the bottom of the window. This should complete the lesson for you. 

Q How long will I have access to the course?

A. You will have access to the course for 180 days from the date of registration, not the date of initial access.

Q Where can I find the expiration date of my course?

A. To find the expiration date of your course, simply click on the "+" next to the title of the course in your "My Education" page. This will expand all course information and indicate when the course will expire, the amount of time you spent in the course, and the date of the time you last accessed the course. The status of your progress in each lesson will also be shown.

Q.  I clicked "submit" on the exam and nothing happened. Why?

A.  You must answer all questions in order to submit the exam. If you try and submit before you make all your selections, next to each question you did not respond to, it will say "Please select a response" in red. Please make a selection and submit your exam. After you submit your exam. It should refresh and at the top of the page say "Please note your Total Score below. Click the Next button to complete the exam process". If you close out before arriving to the results page, your results will not be saved. 

Q.  What happens when I pass the exam?

A.  If you score a 70% or higher on the exam, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans will mail a personalized completion certificate to you.  

Your scores will be listed on your My Education page.

Q. What happens if I fail the exam?

If you are not successful taking the exam the first time, in most courses, you are allowed to take the exam a second time. If you would like to request another exam attempt, please contact us using the feedback form.

Q. I'm having technical problems. What should I do?

A. First, try to determine the source of the problem. If the problem only happens with this site or with one page on this site there may be browser incompatibilities. We use cookies, session variables and JavaScript on our site; please make sure they are enabled in your browser. The site is also password protected which may cause a problem for some firewall settings. Please test these possibilities before contacting us. If you believe there is a problem with our pages or servers, please contact us using the feedback form.  

Q. I have a question about the content of the course. Is there someone that can help me?

A. Yes, our program coordinator can answer your question or pass it on to a subject matter expert to get an answer for you. You may use the feedback form for this purpose.

Audio/Visual Courses

Q. I launched the course, but how do I get the Presentation started?

A.  Click the “Launch the Presentation Link” found to the right of the title slide. 

Q. How do I advance after a polling question?

A. To advance after any of the polling questions, listen to all of the audio, when the audio for the polling question is complete and you are done reviewing the question/results of the question, click on the finish button. Clicking the finish button will advance you to the next slide. 

Q. Can I play/stop/pause/rewind my Audio/Visual e-learning course?

A.  Yes. You can pause, stop, restart, or rewind any section of the presentation at any time.  You may view the presentation as often as you wish.  If you choose to leave the course before you have had the opportunity to view the entire presentation, it will remember your ‘place’ in the presentation.  The next time you return to the course, you will be asked if you would like to view the course from where you left off.  If you answer yes, it will bring you back to where you left off. If you answer no, it will start the course over from the beginning. 

Q. How many times can I take the quiz?

A.  Although you may view the presentation as many times as you wish, you will only be able to take the quiz once.  Please be sure to view the entire presentation and also take good notes prior to taking the quiz.  In order to earn a certificate of completion and/or recertification credit, you must pass the quiz with at least a score of 70% or higher. Scores below this percentage will not receive a certificate of completion and/or recertification credit.

Q.  What happens when I pass the quiz?

A.  If you score a 70% or higher on the quiz, the International Foundation will mail a personalized completion certificate to you. If you signed up for recertification credit through HRCI, a special certificate will be mailed to you for self reporting purposes.   

Q.  What does Recertification through HRCI mean?

A.  HRCI is a professional organization responsible for the PHR/SPHR/GPHR designations.  In order to actively maintain these designations, one must accumulate 60 hours of Recertification credits over a 3 year period.  The International Foundation has sought pre-approval of their courses for this purpose.  For more information, refer to the HRCI Recertification Handbook for details. 

Q.  Can I receive continuing education credits for any other designation?

A.  Although our traditional courses can be used for continuing education for Insurance Professionals, these audio/visual e-learning courses are only available for HRCI Recertification Credit. 

Q.  What if I take the quiz and pass, but do not need recertification credit or cannot receive continuing education for my profession?

A.  If you pass the quiz and are not in need of recertification credit or cannot receive continuing education for your profession, you will still be awarded a certificate of successful completion. 

Q. What happens if I fail the quiz?

A.  The quiz consists of 10 questions taken from the Presentation. You will only have one chance to pass the quiz.  If you are not successful at passing this assessment, a completion certificate will not be mailed to you. If you were unable to pass the quiz and you signed up for recertification credit that will also not be available to you. Be sure to view the entire presentation and take notes. If you wish to retake the quiz, you will need to sign up and pay the course fee again.

Tokens

Q. What is the difference between purchasing tokens and purchasing the course directly with a credit card?

A. The option to purchase tokens is available if you are interested in taking multiple courses and you want to pay for them in one transaction.  When purchasing tokens, you do not need to know which course(s) you want to take. Your purchase sets up a bank of tokens to draw from.  As you enroll in courses, tokens will be deducted from your balance.  One token represents one hour of e-learning, so be sure to purchase enough tokens to cover the amount of course hours you plan to take.

Q. I would like to enroll with tokens, but it is not letting me, why?

A. In order to enroll with tokens, you must have a enough tokens for the course you wish to enroll in. Once you have the select amount of tokens, you must use our Token Catalog

Q. I enrolled in a course using tokens, now what?

A. After you enroll with tokens, the course will appear in “My Education”.

Q. Do my tokens ever expire?

A. Each token is good until you use it to enroll in a course. Keep in mind that when you enroll in a course, you will have access to the course and final exam for 180 days from this access date, not the date of token purchase. After 180 days, you will no longer be able to ‘enter’ the course. Please note that for volume orders, token balances remaining after 12 months will expire.  

Q. Can I transfer my tokens to another individual?

A. No, tokens cannot be transferred to another individual unless you have purchased in volume. 

Q. If I am requesting CE/Recertification Credit, can I use tokens?

A. Yes. After you enroll, but before you complete your course, fill out and send in the Continuing Education Request Form.   

Can I purchase and distribute tokens to my entire staff for our organization’s training needs?

Yes. Several organizations have utilized tokens for training purposes. Volume token discounts are available for purchases of over 25. Each token is good for one hour of e-learning and can be redeemed by anyone on your benefits team. Q. What if I wish to cancel my registration to the e-learning course?

Full refund is provided if cancellation is made prior to accessing the e-learning course. Cancellations must be made by emailing elearning@ifebp.org or calling 262-786-6710, option 3.

Cancellations after receiving course sign-on information must be made within 48 hours of the issuance of sign-on information for a full refund. No refund will be provided after this time period. Cancellations must be made by emailing elearning@ifebp.org or calling 262-786-6710, option 3.
